Two teams, each with a celebrity and a contestant, play the ultimate word game. One word can make all the difference between winning and losing.
The show is played against the clock and is a test of vocabulary, team work and clear thinking. Over the initial qualifying Speed Rounds each contestant has the opportunity to play with both celebrities. The contestant with the highest score faces the Password Money Ladder. At each level the pair needs to find five Passwords in just 90 seconds. As the money stakes build, the risk gets greater as the number of words available is reduced. By the top prize on the ladder only 5 words are available and all must be answered correctly.
Password originally aired in America in October 1961. The show was a big hit in the US, consistently ranking No. 1 in its time period and has been successfully produced in over 12 territories including France, Greece, and Spain.
