Pearson Television originally bought the famous Australia-based Grundy company back in 1995. This naturally became part of our portfolio in 2001 when Pearson began operating under the FremantleMedia umbrella.
FremantleMedia Italia SpA (formerly Grundy Italia SpA) began operating in 1994 and became market leader four years later with the acquisition of Mastrofilm. The company’s A Place in the Sun (Un Posto al Sole) has run since 1996 and is Italy’s longest-running soap opera. The company is now producing Thank God You’re Here and Prettiest Girl in the Class.
