Q: Where does FremantleMedia operate?
FremantleMedia is a truly global production, licensing and distribution company. We have production operations in 25 countries around the world and produce programming for over 40 territories.
Our head office is in London and our three largest operations are in the US (FremantleMedia North America), Germany (UFA) and the UK (talkbackTHAMES).
FremantleMedia is the content division of RTL Group, Europe's largest television and radio broadcast company, with interests in 39 television and 32 radio stations in ten European countries.
RTL Group is 90% owned by Bertelsmann AG, an integrated media and entertainment company that commands leading positions in the world's major media markets.
Q: What is the relationship between FremantleMedia and RTL Group's broadcasting stations?
FremantleMedia and the RTL Group broadcasters operate on an arm’s length basis. The vast majority of our production and distribution sales are to broadcasters not owned by RTL Group, and it is our goal to maintain excellent relationships with all main broadcasters in the territories that we operate in.

FremantleMedia employs ca. 1700 permanent people. In addition, people on fixed-term contracts and freelancers work on our various productions.

In 2006, FremantleMedia produced over 10,150 hours of original programming around the world.

The FremantleMedia archives contains over 150,000 hours of programming.
