Our purpose is to create ideas, programmes and brands that entertain, inspire and enrich people the world over.

Strategy

FremantleMedia’s strategy is to build on our position as one of the world’s leading creators, producers and exploiters of programme brands while addressing the opportunities of the fast-growing digital market space.

On a global level, we have six clear strategic priorities:

1. Maintain and expand our position in our largest markets

Where our companies are already leading players with significant market share, our priority is to maintain our position while pursuing new business activities and diversification.

2. Become a significant player in all major global entertainment markets

FremantleMedia already has a foothold in most globally important entertainment markets. But there is still room to strengthen our position in some of them, and our mid-term aim is to become a leading producer in all major global entertainment markets. We are also keeping a close eye on tomorrow’s major markets in Eastern Europe, Asia and Latin America.

3. Invest and fight for rights retention

Under our careful management, television programmes have the potential to evolve into global entertainment brands. The retention of local and international ancillary rights is, therefore, a key strategic priority for us.

4. Develop new formats while nurturing our existing brands

We believe in nurturing our existing and long-running brands, but we must also develop new titles every year. We are already investing heavily in our development and creative talent, and will continue to strengthen our unique global creative network to leverage creativity across our companies.

5. Become the employer and partner of choice for creative and executive talent

Creative, commercial and management talent is essential for our future success. We will continue our efforts to make our companies great places to work, and are continuously looking to attract the best on and off-screen talent in the industry.

6. Grow our new business and new platforms activities

FremantleMedia is already actively exploiting the creative and commercial opportunities of the fast-growing digital space. As our viewers’ entertainment habits change, we will continue to grow our efforts on broadband, mobile and other non-traditional platforms.
