FMNA BRINGS THEIR GAME SHOW EXPERTISE TO UNIVERSAL KIDS WITH TWO NEW SHOWS

Silence will be Golden on “The Noise,” while “Beat the Clock” will have Kids Competing in Off-The-Wall Time-Based Challenges

FremantleMedia North America (FMNA) today announced the company will be bringing its game show prowess to the newly branded Universal Kids, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment’s kids network. FMNA has long been known as the leader in game shows with Family Feud, the #1 game show in syndication, daytime hits such as The Price Is Right and Let’s Make A Deal, along with recent primetime successes Celebrity Family Feud, Match Game and To Tell the Truth.

For the first time, FMNA has created game shows specifically for kids, with two new series slated to premiere on Universal Kids. Silence will be golden as FMNA premieres The Noise, a new high-tech game show that will challenge kids to be quiet.  In addition, the company will premiere a kids’ version of the cherished game show format Beat the Clock.

The Noise, premiering on Universal Kids on Monday, October 23 at 7pm ET/6pm Central with back-to-back episodes, is based on a popular game show format stemming from FremantleMedia Asia’s partnership with Fuji TV in Japan. Hosted by Faruq Tauheed (BattleBots), kids will be challenged to complete various tasks without making a sound. Two teams comprised of two kids each will compete against each other with the ultimate sound detector, the “Noise-O-Meter,” constantly listening. Each challenge involves the kids completing a task, such as opening a bag of chips or hanging a set of wind chimes, as quietly as possible. The less noise they make, the more points they earn in this high-tech game show that hears everything. For further play-along at home, The Noise-O-Meter app on iTunes and Google Play allows families to keep the silent challenge going as their phone is turned into a microphone capable of hearing the slightest sound, while they complete tasks based on the TV show. FMNA’s Jennifer Mullin and Joni Day serve as the executive producers on The Noise, with Michael Dietz serving as the showrunner.   Beat the Clock originally premiered in the 1950’s and became the longest running TV stunt show in history. FMNA’s new version of this cherished format will premiere on Universal Kids in Q1 2018 and will allow kids to team up with their parents, grandparents and other adult relatives in a thrilling race against time as they compete in wacky and hilarious challenges while racing against the clock. Only one team will make it to the end where they will compete against “The Big Clock” for the grand prize.

Beat the Clock is hosted by Paul Costabile (NBC’s New York Live, iHeartRadio), with FMNA’s Jennifer Mullin and Joni Day serving as executive producers, along with showrunner Noah Bonnett.
