MIPTV, 04 April, 2012 – FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) has secured a deal with Turner Broadcasting to support the launch of the broadcaster’s new TNT cable channel in Benelux with 135 hours of high-end drama, comedy and entertainment programming.
TNT Benelux, which will launch on 10th April, has picked up UK dramas Exile, The Crimson Petal & The White, Laconia and Holy Flying Circus; comedy series such as The IT Crowd, Phoneshop and Trollied; and international series’ Satisfaction, Killing Time, Web Therapy, and Cops LAC.
Richard Tulk-Hart, VP Sales, Distribution (Benelux, Malta, Sub Saharan Africa & Cyprus) & Home Entertainment (EMEA) brokered the deal for FME with Susan Kelsall, Programming and Acquisition Director, CEE & Benelux for Turner Broadcasting.
Tulk-Hart said, “We’re extremely pleased to be providing a great mix of top content from FME’s slate of rich and diverse programming – from acclaimed dramas such as Paul Abbott’s Exile, to international comedy series Web Therapy, produced by and starring Lisa Kudrow – to help support TNT’s launch in Benelux. We look forward to working closely with the channel and developing our relationship moving forward.”
Kelsall said, "We are very happy to have picked up some fantastic titles from FME for the launch of TNT including some high quality dramas and comedy series that will premiere in the region.
